Go to www.ecoledepole.co.uk on a laptop or on the mobile website on your phone (not on the Team Up app for your first time signing up!)

Click ‘Book a Class’ in the top right corner

Click on ‘Sign Up’ or ‘Register’ and complete the registration form, health form and waiver (please note, if your browser blocks pop-ups it will ask you to open in a new window)

Once you have created an account and completed the forms you will be able to view the full schedule, purchase CLASS PACKS and book into classes on the timetable – you can then also use the app for class bookings.
To book and pay for STUDIO HIRE, PARTIES/ GROUPS or PRIVATE LESSONS please use the website version (not the app). Go to ‘Book A Class’ – then “Class Packs” in the menu options alongside My Account etc at the top of the timetable. Scroll down to the relevant package you are purchasing eg: STUDIO HIRE (this is not pole hire!) PARTY (small or large) or PRIVATE LESSONS.
Gift vouchers can be purchased from the menu option GIFT CARDS.
To book Showcase tickets – please go to ‘Store’ in the Menu options on the website (under Book A Class).

Advanced Master Training Course

Objectives: This course has been designed to build the knowledge to plan and instruct a safe Advanced level pole fitness workout, and to deliver an effective class through appropriate demonstration, using a wide range of teaching and communication skills. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Plan and instruct an Advanced Pole Fitness Class
Manage the training schedule of an advanced pole athlete;
Understand when and why to implement progressions and regressions;
Understand how to support and nurture advanced students’ progress;
Consider safe ways to prevent injuries; and
Draw upon a deep understanding of the principles and mechanics of advanced pole dancing and movement.

Study Time: 11.75 hours (2.75 hours self paced learning & online theory exam, 9 hours face to face tutorials including practical assessment)

Pre-requisites: Completed the EDP INTERMEDIATE MASTER Training Course (or equivalent).

CECs: You will earn 6 AUSactive CECs on completion of the course (or 1.0 American Council on Exercise CECs). To claim CECs you must be on the Register of Exercise Professionals in the applicable country (you do not need to be registered to take the course – only if you want to claim CECs toward your registration).

Step by step preparations, teaching points & tips for advanced tricks, with opportunities to actively implement and practice new teaching skills using active learning methods

Manual: covers theory units and complete breakdowns of almost 110 Advanced pole tricks & spins, flexibility & conditioning exercises; with technique & watch out points, tips & spotting techniques.

Assessment: includes practical demonstration of the instructors’ ability to teach the tricks of this level and deliver the objectives of this course safely. A theory test will be given, covering anatomy, class formats and other units of the course to show the instructors understanding of the principles of pole fitness and their responsibilities as an instructor within the scope of practice for Registered Exercise Professionals.

Beginner Master Training Course

Objectives: This course has been designed to build the knowledge to plan and instruct a safe beginner level pole fitness workout and to deliver an effective class through appropriate demonstration, using a wide range of teaching and communication skills. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Describe the value of fitness
Understand their responsibilities as a pole instructor and how to build confidence with their students
Understand how to safely adapt tricks to suit the varying needs and fitness levels of students in a general beginner class
Identify muscles required, and correct the technique of students using watch out points and tips during the exercise or movement
Understand how to structure a beginner pole routine, incorporating musicality and dance aspects and how to deliver this to a class

Study Time: 10 hours (2 hours self paced learning & online theory exam, 8 hours face to face tutorials including practical assessment)

Pre-requisites: 6 months pole training recommended.

CECs: You will earn 6 AUSactive CECs on completion of the course (or 0.7 American Council on Exercise CECs). To claim CECs you must be on the Register of Exercise Professionals in the applicable country (you do not need to be registered to take the course – only if you want to claim CECs toward your registration).

Principles of Pole Fitness
How to structure a Beginner Class: build an effective warm up, plan a balanced class, structure routines and link movements in combinations, safe cool downs
Muscles & Anatomy essential in Pole (weight bearing exercise, muscle movements and joint actions in pole grips)
Health & Safety (risk assessments, pre-exercise screening, spotting, instructor responsibilities)
Teaching Methodology (teaching and learning styles, cueing and communicating)
Dance Aspects (counting, phrasing, musicality, rhythm & imagery)
Contraindications and how to adapt tricks accordingly
Technique of Beginner tricks & spins (muscles used, progressions and regressions), teaching points, safety, spotting, correcting students)
Functional Methods of Teaching Pole Tricks
Mechanics of Beginner Spinning Pole
Pole Conditioning (on and off the pole)
Flexibility Training for Beginner Classes; the importance of stretching for balanced fitness

Manual: covers theory units and complete break downs of over 65 Beginner (Levels 1 & 2) pole tricks & spins, flexibility & conditioning exercises; with technique & watch out points, tips & spotting techniques.

Intermediate Master Training Course

Objectives:

This course builds knowledge to plan and instruct a safe Intermediate pole fitness class and to deliver an effective class through appropriate demonstration, using a wide range of teaching and communication skills. Upon completion, participants will be able to:

Plan and instruct an Intermediate Pole Fitness Class
Define the scope of practice for a registered exercise professional and provide clarity in regard to their role and responsibilities
Identify the muscles and joints used in Intermediate pole grips and moves
Offer suitable progressions and regressions to meet the varying needs and fitness levels of students in an Intermediate class
Identify and correct student’s technique and build strength
Understand functional and efficient execution of movement
Demonstrate safe and effective spotting as inversions are introduced
Understand how to support injury prevention
Promote creative expression and fluid movement

Study Time: 11.75 hours (2.75 hours self paced learning & online theory exam, 9 hours face to face tutorials including practical assessment)

Naomi Browne

Naomi’s passion for physical development begun at the age of 4 when she was introduced to gymnastics. She trained as a gymnast for many years and then started developing her dance skills and musicality. Mixing the two sports in the form of pole dance makes Naomi’s style of performance strong and dynamic as well as elegant and powerful.

Her interest in acrobatic skills, dance and performance also extended to fascination with human physiology, movement and biology, leading her to study anatomy and physiology and later graduating from the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences with a Diploma as well as extra studies. Her application of knowledge gained from these studies allows her to have a unique perspective on instructing others in training safely and making progress in developing their skills.

Naomi has only been competing in the pole industry for the last 3 years, and took out 1st place in her first competition at Pole Expressions 2016, and since then has gone on to compete and place in numerous Australian State and National competitions. She has also been invited as a guest performer at highly regarded pole competitions and studio performances.

As well as training for herself, She has been teaching the highest level classes in two pole studios for the last 3 years and is passionate about students learning correct technique and seeing them grow within the sport.

When she is not in the pole studio, Naomi works as a self-employed physical rehab therapist working with clients including, athletes, mothers, elderly and youth to improve any physical ailments they may have, anything from sports injuries in professional athletes to arthritis or growing pains.
